The Ukraine Russia war costs are revealed - Ukraine needs more than 4.6 billion euros a month to keep the war against Russia going, according to the Ukrainian prime minister.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal says the country needs up to five billion dollars (more than 4.6 billion euros) a month to keep the war effort afloat.
Speaking to CBS anchor Margaret Brennan on this Sunday's Face the Nation show, Shmyhal outlines what is required for Ukraine war effort and what it will cost.
"The great battle for Donbass [began] 5 or 4 days ago. We see it by [the] number of casualties on both sides, Shmyhal argues.
"However, our soldiers remain in their positions, protecting, and we will. We have the support of our partners in [the] military sphere, in [the] financial sphere," Shmyhal notes.

In addition, he adds that Ukraine needs two fundamental things: weapons and ammunition and medical supplies.
"First of all, we need weapons. The second issue is medical support. But many countries support us in this medical sphere because they take our wounded soldiers and take care of their rehabilitation," explains Shmyhal, who points out that funds are also needed for humanitarian aid to civilians.
Likewise, the Ukrainian prime minister has confirmed Brennan's suggestion that up to 5,000 million dollars (about 4,630 million euros) per month would be needed to keep Ukraine on its feet, and that, for now, the money has been secured with the promises of the allies.
"We have a lot of negotiations with the G20 countries, their finance ministers from these countries, the international financial organization, the IMF, the World Bank," Shmyhal lists the presenter.

However, the politician points out that the costs are also increasing for the millions of Ukrainians suffering at the front and civilians who left their homes and are running out of food, water, and medicine.
"For example, in March, we spent 1.1 billion dollars [more than one billion euros] just for seven million internally displaced people. But now, after [the] liberation of some territories of Ukraine, we need to also support with finances, with technologies for mine clearance activity, because more than 120,000 square miles [about 190,000 km2] are under mines and bombs," he shares.
The United States has committed more than 1,000 million dollars (925 million euros) in aid to Ukraine. The Biden administration has announced aid packages for Ukraine on Thursday, April 21 and last April 13, along with Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen's promise to allocate five hundred million dollars (460 million euros) to finance the country's administration.

When asked if he had 3 weeks to wait for Congress to approve the funds, Shmyhal replies that the clock is ticking for Ukraine.
"We count every minute, every hour, not every day - not every week or every month - because every minute and every hour soldiers, civilians, children, women die. Therefore, we need faster decisions," he emphasizes.
