Socialpoint entrepreneurial ecosystem won since February 2017 well over 260 million euros in profit.
Horacio Martos and Andrés Bou founded Social Point in 2008 with just 60,000 euros. They did this after finishing their computer science studies at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.
Since then they have designed great successes that have made the company a benchmark in the gaming sector in Spain: they created a dozen video games focused on mobile and not so much on PC or console.

His business was to offer the service for free and that only the most faithful paid. With that model, they raised 48 million and in 2017 they sold the company to the American giant Take-Two for 260 million euros, according to data from the Startup Observatory of Fundación Innovación Bankinter.
Take-Two is headquartered in New York and listed on the Nasdaq. It bills 1.4 billion and is known for its street violence game GTA, the fifth best-selling in history with 110 million copies.
With this exit, the video game company Socialpoint became one of the emblems of the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Barcelona. After the purchase, Take-Two decided to maintain the autonomy of the company and the founding team.

As Horacio Martos told La Vanguardia, he is proud that the company now has a global impact. In 2017, it employed 270 people and, now, 330.
“We are going to sign 50 professionals this year. Since 2017, we have not stopped growing. Now we are more demanding financially but, in the rest of the issues, we are still a startup. Being part of this group allows us to think big. We have more resources, talent and we share experience”" stressed the Catalan entrepreneur.
