Meeting of entrepreneurs from France: Borne and Zelensky star guests of the Medef startup.
During her speech at the Meeting of Entrepreneurs of France, the Prime Minister intends to take stock with companies on energy savings.
This is a particularly long-awaited speech that Elisabeth Borne will give this Monday. The Meeting of Entrepreneurs of France (REF) of the Medef opens with a speech by the Prime Minister who should call on companies to energy sobriety.
If Elisabeth Borne said in an interview with Le Parisien published on Sunday that we are not "going to control the French at home" regarding the energy savings requested, she added that "regarding companies there will be common sense constraints". Two decrees are also under consideration at the Council of State on the extinction of light advertisements at night and the closure of doors for air-conditioned shops.

In front of the employers, the Prime Minister intends to call on companies and individuals to "mobilize generally" in terms of energy sobriety. A first assessment of the actions taken by companies to reduce energy consumption could be made at the end of September or in October, according to Matignon. More restrictive measures could also be triggered if the sobriety target of 10% energy savings is not achieved and Russia completely cuts off gas supplies, according to the same source.
"Companies obviously have a role to play," assures for his part the president of Medef, Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux in an interview with Le Figaro published this Monday. "The sobriety plan we are discussing mainly focuses on two topics: the temperature in offices (...) and everyday mobility, by pushing alternative transport solutions to the individual car," he explains. But, "we will also have to rethink our production model more globally to make it more sober".

Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire, for his part, said on Saturday that the rise in electricity and gas in 2023 would be "contained". A regular at the event, his speech before the Medef is scheduled for Tuesday. "Will inflation bury the goal of full employment? ", will also be the theme of a debate in the presence of the Minister of Labor Olivier Dussopt and the secretary general of the Labor union Frédéric Souillot.
Before these interventions, the Meeting of Entrepreneurs from France begins this Monday at noon with a live videoconference intervention by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The REF, which had more than 8,000 entries last year in Paris, intends to break attendance records this year on its two days of debates at the Parisian Longchamp racecourse, predicts Patrick Martin, deputy president of the Medef.

Apec: Small drop in hiring intentions of executives but recruitment difficulties remain the real problem
The Association for the Employment of Executives notes that "recruitment difficulties are not drying up and are reaching record levels"
The economic consequences of the war in Ukraine are beginning to affect the employment of executives. Recruitment intentions show a slight decline with 10% of companies planning to hire at least one executive in the 3rd quarter compared to 13% in the second, according to the latest Apec barometer published on Monday.
"The slight decline in executive hiring intentions, which began as early as March in a context of uncertainty related to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, is confirmed," emphasizes the Association for the Employment of Executives. However, Apec explains that "recruitment difficulties are not drying up and are reaching record levels: 84% of companies anticipate them for the 3rd quarter, a level never before reached (30 points more than in September 2020)".
"These difficulties in recruiting now represent a real threat to the economic development of companies. However, this is not a foregone conclusion. There is a pool of available skills that aspire to work, for example among seniors but also among young graduates," argues the general director of the association, Gilles Gateau.
The volume of job offers published on apec.fr moreover, it remained "very well oriented in the second quarter with regard to its pre-health crisis level (+18% compared to the 2nd quarter of 2019)," says Apec.
