This Thursday, January 13, 2022, the average price of electricity rises to 215.11 euros / MWh. This represents a slight increase compared to the cost of energy last Wednesday: 206.07. Since last Monday, January 10, it has stabilized between 200 and 220 euros. Far from the highs of almost 400 euros it reached in December 2021.
According to data from OMIE (the electricity market operator appointed to manage the daily and intraday electricity market in the Iberian Peninsula), the total energy traded in Spain on Thursday is 474 GWh.
The minimum amount this Thursday is 182.88 euros (between 3:00 and 4: 00 hours). A little above the 178.33 euros on Wednesday, in that case, between 4:00 and 5: 00.
As far as the maximum price of electricity is concerned, Thursday is 262.95 euros (between 19:00 and 20:00 hours). Also, slightly higher than Wednesday, which was 261.38 (in the same time slot).

The cheapest hours for this Thursday are:
From 0 to 1: 190 euros / MWh.
From 1 to 2: 188,72 euros.
From 2 to 3: 187,87 euros.
From 3 to 4: 182,88 euros.

From 5 to 6: 187,42 euros.
From 6 to 7: 192,93 euros.
Between 7:00 and 11:00 hours, and from 16:00 to 22: 00, the price of electricity will not fall at any time of 220 euros/MWh.
Therefore, whenever possible, it is best to avoid starting appliances in that very wide time slot.
The price of gas this Thursday will be 79.43 euros / MWh, according to the Iberian Gas Market (Mibgas). It is a slight decrease compared to Wednesday's price, which was 81 euros.

As far as the maximum price of electricity is concerned, the Wednesday price is 261,387 euros (between 19:00 and 20:00 hours). Almost identical to Tuesday, which was 261.38 euros between 20:00 and 21:00.
Between 7:00 and 10:00 hours, and from 16:00 to 24: 00, the price of electricity will not fall at any time of 200 euros/MWh.
Therefore, whenever possible, it is best to avoid starting appliances in that very wide time slot.
