Both trendy and not very expensive, wood is one of the most popular materials in the design of a terrace. Authentic and warm, it brings this timeless and natural charm to any exterior and allows you to create several styles (bohemian, country, cozy or tropical ...). Coming in several forms (clip-on slabs, slats, gratings ...), it can be laid according to different methods.

Obviously, the cost varies depending on the type and species of wood. Thus, the entrance fee can range from about € 15 per m2 (for European woods such as acacia or pine) to almost € 100 per m2 (for some exotic woods). In addition, keep in mind that wood requires regular maintenance.
Composed partly of wood fibers, the composite imitates the appearance of natural wood, minus its disadvantages. If it does not have all the charm of the original, it does indeed have the advantage of requiring much less maintenance and adapting to any type of terrace and look. Both aesthetic and easy to maintain, tiles are very often used for the arrangement of a terrace. This classic material offers a very wide choice of design, colors, materials and prices. They can be found at around € 10 per m2, but again, the cost depends on the type of tile chosen. Resistant and durable, this material is a rather wise economic investment in the long term.

Widely used in construction, decorative concrete is an easy and quick material to lay, which creates a clean and neat effect. Design, very smooth, resistant to shocks, weathering and time, it is offered in several colors and finishes (printed, deactivated, draining, smooth ...) and has a very interesting quality / price ratio.
Ideal for small budgets who dream of creating a green space, this synthetic flooring combines affordable price and ease of installation. Generally presented in the form of rolls (to be placed on a concrete slab), it intends to imitate the rendering of a beautiful lawn. Be careful, however, with entry-level products that can quickly deteriorate.
Budget house terrace arrangements
Arranging your terrace area with small gravel can also be an inexpensive solution. Available in various colors (white, gray, pink or even yellow ...), the chips allow you to create patterns and delimited spaces.
To make the installation last over time, plan to lay a geotextile felt underneath and add gravel from time to time to adjust the level. For a pleasant and original terrace, it's up to you to put your imagination and creativity to work!
Focus: The reconstituted stone
If the natural stone is particularly chic and elegant on a terrace, it remains quite expensive. Nevertheless, there are reconstituted versions and therefore cheaper. Made from crushed natural stones and bonded by cement, this material is less authentic but also more resistant.
