BMW warns its shareholders and announces declining profits.
BMW is worried about the many challenges ahead in the second half of the year: inflation, fears of a shortage of gasoline and disruptions in the supply chain are weighing on demand. And the increase in sales prices only partially compensates for the decrease in production.
BMW declining profits
If BMW expects an increase in sales in the second half of the year, the automaker said that total deliveries will not reach the 2021 record, namely 2.52 million copies for the entire group, not without adding that the strengthening of sanctions against Russia, the interruption of gas supply or the possibility of prolongation of the war in Ukraine were not taken into account in its forecasts.
In addition, despite the increase in revenue due to the results of the Chinese joint venture BMW Brilliance, the brand reported a 31% decrease in its profit before interest and taxes in the second quarter, which amounted to 3.4 billion euros.

Fuel: The prices per litre of diesel and petrol continue to fall in France.
Prices at the station are on average below 1.9 euros for diesel and below 1.8 euros for gasoline.
After reaching a peak seven weeks ago, prices at the pump are slowly, but surely falling in France every week. According to the monitoring of the Ministry of Ecological Transition, on Friday, August 5, the price of diesel fuel was on average 1.83 euros per liter, a decrease of 3.9 cents compared to the previous week.
Regarding the price of the Super SP 95-E10, the drop is less glaring, since it posted that same Friday 1.79 euros per liter, or 1.4 cents less than seven days before. For the past two weeks, however, the price of gasoline has finally fallen back below the level of the beginning of May. Diesel, on the other hand, has almost returned to its level at the end of May when it averaged 1.82 euros per liter.
The government, which had decided from April 1 to a discount of 15 euro cents excluding tax per liter at a gas station, decided to continue this exceptional assistance until August 31, 2022.
