Simultaneously with the exit of Wallbox, also in October 2021, Ardian made a strong commitment to the telecommunications sector in Spain. The French venture capital fund took over the majority of Adamo, the fiber optic operator specializing in rural areas, which was in the hands of EQT (current owner of Idealista).
The acquisition of 80% of the capital reached 800 million euros, so the total valuation of the company exceeded 1,000 million.

The company has 10,000 kilometers of optical fiber that serves 600 towns in Madrid, Catalonia, Asturias and Seville. It had about one million customers at the end of 2020, after having reached agreements with MásMóvil, Viesgo and Telecable, and having acquired Fibranet and Fibramedios.
In 2020, it achieved the award of a large part of the PEBA plan (Broadband Extension Plan) that the Government had convened to grant subsidies for the deployment of fiber in rural areas. Adamo prevailed over Telefónica, the usual winner of these calls.
