Mango launches Alter Made new conscious fashion brand with which it expects to bill 25 million euros in 2024 - The Mango textile group has launched Alter Made: an independent project of the brand that was born with the aim of creating timeless collections and thus promote conscious consumption.

The new format, as announced by the company, will be sold online from early November in Spain, France, Germany and the Netherlands.

At the business level, the CEO of Mango, Toni Ruiz, sets the goal: “The objective is that the brand invokes 25 million euros in 3 years”.

The manager explains that the mission is to accompany a specific audience that seeks to consume responsibly while the company learns and tests new ways of working.

At the head of the project will be Alejandra Mur, until now purchasing director of the Woman line and with an experience in the Catalan group of 15 years.

” Create quality garments, very careful, made in proximity and that have a long life", says Mur about the vocation with which the format was born.

The firm plans to follow a strategy in production of short runs with the premise of minimizing the surplus. In this sense, the first launch will consist of a total of 120 garments.

"Alter Made will offer a collection of wardrobe garments made up of durable, timeless, high-quality pieces with sustainable characteristics," the company details.

Under this premise it will also seek to redouble its commitment to production in proximity: its garments will be produced in Europe and Turkey by selected suppliers.

” We are going to produce where they best know how to make each product, the origin of each garment will be marked by mastery, " adds Mur in this sense.

In this commitment to responsible consumption, the brand will also carry out a traceability control of its raw materials according to both sustainability and quality certifications.

With all this, the firm, which will initially have a team of 12 professionals, was born with the vocation of serving as a sustainability laboratory to continue improving all Mango processes.

"We don't understand the future of fashion without the physical channel," Elena Carasso, Online and customer director at Mango, explained.

Under this premise, the chain announced in May the implementation of an investment plan to renovate about 800 stores, which is equivalent to a good part of the group's own establishments.

This movement meant a change in the direction of the sector with the fashion titans like Inditex or H & M undertaking closures in their commercial network.

Like these textile giants, Mango did not leave unscathed from the pandemic and in 2020 saw its income fall by 22%, to 1,842 million euros. A year earlier, it marked its best year: its sales reached 2,374 million

However, the online channel shone brightly. In one year it climbed 18 percentage points,to represent 42% of the group's turnover (766 million euros). With all this, the mission for 2021 now passes because the figure rises to 1,000 million.

The Government will allocate 10 million euros to the pilot plan to implement the 4-day workweek, 20% of the initially agreed budget

After delaying its implementation until 2022 and disassociate its funding from European funds Next Generation EU, the Government's pilot plan to encourage companies to try the 4-day workweek suffers a new setback in its inclusion in the Executive project for the General State Budget for 2022, from which the funds to finance this measure will come out.

Thus, the Ministry of Industry has raised to Finance the budget to promote the implementation of the work week to 4 days a limit to 10 million euros, 20% of the funding of 50 million that the Government and More Country agreed in January to launch this initiative, according to forward The Confidential.

8 months ago, the Executive agreed with the training led by Íñigo Errejón that the pilot project to offer aid to companies that want to apply the 32-hour workweek was part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan that the Executive approved in October to define the areas to which European aid against the coronavirus will be allocated with an endowment of 50 million euros, which Industry has planned to reduce by 80%.

However, the representatives of Most Country will meet this week with the Ministry of Finance to renegotiate the amount of funding for this pilot project, and close the support of this training, the draft budget that the Government intends to present to the Congress of Deputies during the first half of October, according to the journal.

Precisely, the January agreement served to guarantee the support of More Countries to the decree law that regulates the management and distribution of European funds, after Congress rejected the amendment of this party to include the pilot project in the 2021 Budgets. Now, the plan to promote the 4-day workweek will depend on the approval of the 2022 public accounts, although its details are still being negotiated.

In particular, the pilot project is expected to provide support to companies applying the 32-hour workweek so that they do not reduce their workers ' wages and finance their digitisation. However, these grants are still to be defined, which could reach 250,000 euros per company, as well as the number of companies that are expected to be included in this pilot project.

Más País has proposed that the pilot project to be included in the next Budgets follow the pattern of the plan that has already been applied for the same purpose by the Generalitat valenciana, proposing to include between 200 and 400 companies representing different sectors to compare their productivity after reducing working hours with that of other similar companies that have not applied this measure.
