Zerman Soukup TV Barrandov viewers - There was no quarrel, Zeman said about Soukup. It didn't have the juice anymore, he says

Many viewers of TV Barrandov were surprised that after the New Year the Thursday show with the president, where Miloš Zeman regularly commented on current events, did not return to the program. There has been speculation as to whether Zeman and the TV show owner, Jaromir Soukup, were somehow uncomfortable. Zeman denies any disputes.

Zeman had denied a sharper exchange of views in a Sunday interview for Radio Frequency 1. "Certainly not on my part," he said, asking whether there was a conflict with Soukup.

In circles close to the presidential office, however, it was said that Soukup had serious disputes with the people around Zeman. Specifically, he had to meet with one of his advisors Martin Nejedly for his business. However, the president also rejected this in a Sunday interview. "I don't know there is an argument between Soukup and any of my co-workers," he said.

Zeman finally ended his participation in the program through his spokesman Jiri Ovcacek, who in an open letter to Jaromir Soukup told that the presidential participation should not count.

He said that although the show had a place among the President's media activities and was a boon to the audience, he has now exhausted its potential. "Therefore, we do not count on the start of filming," says the letter. The castle spokesman also had his own talk show of Jiří Ovčáček at Barrandov, which disappeared from the television program already in December.

Will Soukup replace Xaver?

He did not particularly bother the President, but he had already lost his previous charge. "I wouldn't say it was primarily challenging, but the themes were repeated multiple times, so it didn't have the juice anymore," he said.

According to Zeman, the shepherd will have more work to do because he will speak to the public mainly through his mouth. "He will once again speak with the President's views at regular press conferences," he said.

The President also indicated that he could regularly appear in Czech Radio broadcasts in the future.

He said he received an offer from Czech Radio's CEO René Zavoral. "Mr. Zavoral has suggested more media outcomes with Xaver Veselý, which I love and look forward to," he added.
