Ciugud commune, a positive example in the program "Asta-i România"
Ciugud commune in Alba county, the place where about 30 million euros of European funds arrived, was given as a positive example in an edition of the program Asta-i Romania. The report talked about the first smart school in rural Romania, which operates in Ciugud commune.
The building of the educational unit, built in 1938, has been completely rehabilitated and reorganized so that all the students in the commune can learn here. Thus, the students who until now were studying in the villages of Ciugud will study in the new school which will have 9 classes, from the preparatory class to the eighth grade.
The project involved the restoration of the roof, the masonry, the replacement of the doors and carpentry, the installation of a tiled floor in the classrooms and on the halls, as well as the implementation of intelligent solutions for lighting and air conditioning. The system allows lighting and air conditioning in each class to be adjusted according to preset scenarios or with the help of sensors. In the case of lighting, the sensors turn on or off the light when they notice the presence in the classroom and then adjust it according to the daylight so as not to affect the eyes of the children. Even the bathrooms have flood sensors that stop the water network if a large amount of water is detected on the floor.
“The first smart school in rural Romania is a school that we thought would be more child friendly, but at the same time it is a school that is trying to prove that education in the rural area has a future. We say there is a school in the country that looks like out. Our children are connected to these devices, just as they grew up, with the phone in hand, with the tablet, with the computer, and modern education, today's generation education means not running away from these devices, but to try to use them in the educational process. The mobile phone leaves him at home, they are not allowed to use it at school, instead they have at school almost everything that technology means. ”Says Dan Lungu, spokesman for Ciugud commune.
"If we did not take such a measure to create a model school, a school that is not found in the city may not even think that in the following years there was still a school in Ciugud. What you see here we do not say is SF, we do not say that it is WOW, but it is the normality that should be found in any school in Romania ”, says Dan Lungu.
"After all, this was also the challenge for us, to change this somewhat preconceived idea, that the country school is a dilapidated school, with old furniture where the toilet is in the yard, where we have no water, where we do not have places to go. play, where the ceilings fall on us and show that a school from the country can be far beyond any country in the city, ”said Gheorghe Damian, mayor of Ciugud commune.
Gheorghe Damian has been the mayor of this place since 2000. He understood that the future meant European money, jobs and education. In the year 2000, Ciugudul had 2600 people. Now it has 3200.
The cigudul is located only a few kilometers from Alba Iulia. In 2004, the mayor found a way to bring money to the village. 30 hectares of the village island were converted and transformed into an industrial park.
Now, in the park there are 60 companies that pay tax to the town hall. Over 700 people work in them. Many in the village.
