Specifications South Korean Kia Seltos, Provision to Face HR-V to Almaz - Seltos is the second Kia car to be launched after the South Korean brand has been held by a new entity in Indonesia, Kreta Indo Artha, since last year. This new company claims Seltos comes with 'a myriad of features', but the selling price is friendly to the pockets of Indonesian consumers.

Seltos is marketed in three variants namely E IDR 295 million, EX IDR 320 million, and EX + IDR 355 million.

This car enters the compact Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) segment with a capacity of five passengers. In Indonesia Seltos is ready to compete directly with Honda HR-V, Hyundai Kona, and even the five-passenger Wuling Almaz variant.

The car imported directly from India has a length of 4,315 mm, a width of 1,800 mm, a height of 1,645 mm, and a ground clearance of 183 mm.

In terms of design, the front looks like a Seltos car bearing the Land Rover logo judged by the shape of the hood and grille. The Seltos grille is the same as the other Kia global models using 'Tiger Nose' which is flanked by two main LED technology with auto light features.

In the EX + and EX variants, the rims used measure 17 inches, while the lowest model is 16 inches. The 17-inch design looks sporty, different from the 16-inch that looks more conventional.

While the roof of the EX + variant is available sunroof to provide a sensation for drivers and passengers while in the cabin.

Interior

Entering the cabin, the driver and passenger will be presented with a seven-inch touch screen head unit, a special 3.5-inch E variant.

The E variant head unit only has a bluetooth feature, while EX and EX + are more complete, namely USB, AUX, Apple Car Play, android auto, and reverse parking camera. All variants are supported by four speakers and two tweeters.

The upholstery of the two lower variants uses fabric, the EX + leather variant. In the second row AC ventilation is also provided to cool the entire cabin to the maximum.

Safety and Security Features

EX + and EX variants are available with various safety and security features, including six airbags (driver, passenger and side), electronic stability control, and hill assist as standard. Then there is the parking assist, high mounted stop lamp, and keyless entry.

Machine

Among its competitors, Seltos carries the smallest engine, even though it is said to be no less powerful.

Seltos is equipped with a 1,353 cc turbocharged Kappa 4-cylinder engine. The engine is mated to a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission (DCT).

On paper, the Seltos engine is capable of spitting out 138 hp at 6,000 rpm and 242 Nm of torque at 1,500 to 3,200 rpm. (ryh / fea)
