Ruralmind reality show seeks brilliant minds innovate empty Spain - Ruralmind, a reality show that will be broadcast on Twitch and YouTube in October with 40 rural entrepreneurs who will have to present the best business idea for empty Spain.

The objective of the contest, which will last from 13 to 31 October is "to give a modern vision of the rural world" through collaboration and joint work.

The reality show will be held in 3 rural colivings, located in Aragon, Castilla y León and Castilla-La Mancha, some of the most depopulated regions of Spain. Specifically, it will be shot in Santa Eulalia de Gallego (Zaragoza), Villarrín de Campos (Zamora) and Villanueva de los Infantes, in Ciudad Real.

In each venue there will be a winner, who will receive a prize of 3,000 euros. Likewise, one of the 3 villages will be awarded with 2,000 euros to choose one of the 40 entrepreneurs who will participate in Ruralmind to take their business idea there.

The dynamics of the contest will start with the selection by lot of mentors, who will be part of the ambassadors team. Together they will have to conduct an internal casting to evaluate the submitted projects. 10 of them will be out of the contest.

To do this, the contestants must convince them in a speech of 2 minutes maximum duration. "The only requirement to present any business idea is that it can be developed in villages with less than 5,000 inhabitants," they say from Ruralmind on the basis of the contest.

During the first days of the online broadcast, participants will have to present their proposals and from the fifth day the eliminations will begin until there are only 3 finalists for each coliving.

The project has been launched by the National Association of Coliving and Coworking (ANCYCO) in collaboration with Vivatopia. The sponsorship of the Junta de Castilla y león, the Diputación de Zamora and Caja Rural is pending confirmation.

The duration of the program will be 24 hours, spread over 20 days of live broadcasts, presented by the expert in public speaking training Ana Ropa.

The 5G auction will begin on July 20 with the participation of Telefónica, Orange and Vodafone

The auction of the concessions of the frequency band of 700 MHz, which is one of the priority bands for the deployment of 5G, will begin next Tuesday, July 20, as announced on Friday the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation in a note.

Orange, Telefónica and Vodafone will participate in the bid for the concessions, which total 75 MHz, 60 for paired communications and 15 only for descenders, whose starting price is 995 million euros altogether.

Daily, the Adjudication Board will publish on the website of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation the information of the rounds held on the day, once the board considers the bids finished.

The concessions will have a minimum duration of 20 years and may be extended by another 20 years.

Prior to the auction, operators have already conducted training sessions on the use of the secure Electronic Auction Platform (ESP). The Awarding Board will terminate the bidding process when no new bids are received in a round.

The promotion of 5G technology in Spain is a priority of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, which foresees a public investment of 1,500 million euros to accelerate its deployment, according to the ministry in a statement.

This is the third auction of frequencies for 5G networks held in Spain, after the auction of the 3.6-3.8 GHz band held in 2018 and the tender of 20 MHz of the same band held last December 2020.

"It is expected that 5G technology will have a great impact on the economy and job creation as it will allow the development of applications that will change the way in which products and services are produced, distributed and consumed," says the ministry in a note. "In addition, it will be crucial for digital transformation, as it will help other technologies such as the internet of things, big data, robotics, virtual reality or artificial intelligence develop all their capabilities," he adds.
