"There are some skills you're going to need. They will have to be agile enough to learn, to turn to learning opportunities and take advantage of them to redefine themselves," he told.

In 2019, PwC announced an investment of 2,514 million euros in vocational training for its workers. Anyone who participated was guaranteed to work at the firm, even if their original position was eliminated.

Being agile is even more important today, as the world adjusts to a post-pandemic society. New policies and challenges are underway, and agility can be the key to success, experts say.

PwC is actively looking for workers with soft skills, social skills, such as the ability to take risks, learn and be agile. The company announced this week a $ 10 billion plan to hire 100,000 people by 2026, of whom 10,000 will be black and Latino.

"The person we hire today for a tax-related role will move into our tax sector, but later they will go into a legal role, or an audit or advisory role," Moritz says.

Companies like Microsoft and Amazon have used agile frameworks for years to grow their business and improve their productivity.

This mindset, however, is not unique to executives in large companies. It is something that any individual can cultivate and practice, Darrell Rigby, partner of global innovation firm Bain & Co, has previously assured.

Rigby says leaders should look for opportunities for workers to enter projects that make them feel satisfied and help them increase their skills. "Capitalizing on the strengths of specific workers will create a more agile and versatile team," he adds.

"You have to understand that agility is both a mental framework and a method," Rigby continues. "Simply with that disposition and good intentions it is not worth it. Follow effective methods and praxis without believing in them either. You need both to succeed."

For example, a college student can show how they took a leadership role in a club, or how they adjusted to online learning on campus.
