From the Cusco region, and perhaps knowing of the expectation that was overwhelming the population, the head of state shared the denomination that revolves around the health policies of the Central Government and that will remain in force until the last day of the year 2020.

"To demonstrate that as a government we attach great importance to the social sector, both in health and education, this year we are focused on a concept that we have already defined through an emergency decree that has the force of law," said Vizcarra.

“Therefore, in a Council of Ministers that we have already had, we have defined the denomination that will carry for all effects in the public administration in 2020. The year 2020 in Peru is going to be called the Year of Universalization of the Health. That is going to be the effort that we are going to put all ”, he added.

Martín Vizcarra made this announcement in the company of the Minister of Health, María Elizabeth Hinostroza, and some local authorities of Cusco, during a visit to announce the implementation of a hospital for Machu Picchu Pueblo.

The official name of the year 2020 was highly anticipated by the Peruvian population, especially by officials of state institutions, in addition to colleges, institutes and universities. Even some companies have this designation in mind.
