On December 30, Leonardo DiCaprio was enjoying a boat trip with his partner Camila Morrone and friends off Saint Barthélemy. The captain was then informed that a 24-year-old Frenchman had fallen from a cruise ship nearby but that he was nowhere to be found. The American actor and his friends immediately decided to deviate from their trajectory in an attempt to find the young man and prevent him from drowning.

According to numerous media reports, the Frenchman was found safe and sound, after having spent 11 hours in the sea. He was also rescued just in time, before torrential rains poured down. According to The Sun, the young man was among the crew of the cruise ship from which he fell, due to excessive alcohol consumption. When he got on Leonardo DiCaprio's boat, he would have burst into tears when he declared that he had "died". This rescue will have saved him from suffering the same fate as Jack in "Titanic".
