We are incredibly and incredibly fortunate to be able to have 8 and 19 playing for the Chiefs and for so long, and maybe never for anyone else in this modern sports world where this kind of longevity and loyalty is the exception. Not only are Yin and Yang perfect, they seem to be genuine good people. I can imagine there are other fan bases who think they have an equivalent pair somewhere, but those two would be hard to beat.

Perfect. For both. Ovi and Nicky need to end their careers as Caps, and hopefully even retire together.

The only two pairs of central wings I have seen on this level for so long that they come to my mind are Gretzky-Kurri and Trottier-Bossy. Sure, you historically have Howe-Lindsay and others, but that was before my time.

Well, P. would add "supremely" to "unbelievably" and "unbelievably". I would also add a perspective of someone who has been following them since day one. I have enjoyed virtually every player (except Dale Hunter), but Nick and Ovi have been, and still are, sublime. Lucky is a euphemism for the pleasure he has been given.

Connolly has a great interview on The Athletic. I'm glad you've found a second home and continue your strong game there:

Once you landed in Washington, your game got better every year and now it looks like you could have a professional season with the Panthers. What have been some keys to your success?

Confidence. They put me in a good position in Washington and I could work on my game and grow as a player. To me, confidence is number 1, and when you trust your skills and have proven yourself that you can do the job any time of the year, you simply gain more confidence.

You keep working on your game in the summer and you try to improve every year, and I've been able to find my game a little bit the last four years here and I'm having another good year this year, so everything is going well.
