Food price December increased to 17.6% - Some annual increases rise 100%.
Mayonnaise, chocolate and rice top the list of food products that were most expensive during December, when compared to what happened in November, according to a report prepared by Focus Market.
According to the work, mayonnaise rose 17.6%, chocolates 16.3%, and rice 15.9%. The list of foods and personal hygiene products that registered the highest inter-monthly increases is completed with: sugar (14.9%), shavers (10.9%), flavored waters with gas (10.2%), tea ( 10.2%), yogurts (8.1%), nuggets (7.6%) and custards (7%).

If compared to what happened in December 2018, the largest increases were recorded in snacks (97.7%), toothpastes (84.1%), softeners (78.7%), butter (77.9%) , irritants (72.7%), hair (70%), dulce de leche (69.7%), bar soap (67.4%), detergent (66.3%) and spreadable cheeses (65.1% ).
The striking note of this Focus Market report presented yesterday is the low weighted average price of some categories in the month of December: laundry detergent (0.1%), empanada tapas (0.1%), kitchen roll (0.2%), mash (0.5%), butter (1%), preserves (1.7%), and spreadable cheeses (1.8%).
The director of the Focus Market Consultant, Damián Di Pace, stressed that "December will have a floor of 4% because Food and Beverages continued to rise accompanied by the seasonality of the Holidays along with clothing and footwear. On the other hand, recreation typical of the start of summer vacations and housing is also above the average inflation of the month. "
