Czech Ministry Transport create toll auditor without tender - The information was confirmed on Tuesday by a trusted source from the Ministry of Transport. Ministry spokesman Frantisek Jemelka did not want to comment on the possible involvement of Cendis, saying that the tender is still running. The ministry's head Vladimir Kremlik ended on Tuesday.

The winner of the tender, which is being saved by the ÚOHS, was again CGI, which also supervised the previous toll collection, with the offered price of approximately CZK 215 million in ten years. The investigation was prompted by the second applicant, Kapsch.

The Antimonopoly Office first canceled the tender, the RMD filed an appeal on the basis of which the Chairman of the Office Petr Rafaj subsequently consecrated the competition. The decision was then challenged again by Kapsch and a new verdict of the Chairman of the OPC is currently waiting.

Last December, the State Secretary of the Ministry, Martin Vavřina, was asked to submit to the Minister of Transport Vladimir Kremlík (for YES) by the end of January this year whether there are grounds for canceling the tender and whether Cendis's offer is more advantageous for the state.

An independent auditor carries out expert checks of vehicle traffic data in a toll system. According to the results of the measurements, it then determines the efficiency of the toll, within which approximately one billion crowns per month are collected.

According to experts, Cendis does not meet the criteria for a supervisor, in particular the experience with such a large order and the collection and evaluation of vehicle traffic data. Cendis was founded by former Minister of Transport Dan Ťok and was to assist him in the selection process for a new toll system operator.

"We do not consider the possibility of awarding this contract without a tender to the Cendis State Enterprise. While we were invited some time ago to start a possible cooperation with the Cendis State Corporation, the negotiations have not progressed to such a degree that Cendis is clear the toll system is really ready, "said the CEO of the Czech Toll toll operator Matěj Okáli.

Since 1 January, toll collection via satellite technology has been in operation. It is run by a consortium of CzechToll companies from the PPF group, entrepreneur Petr Kellner and Slovak SkyToll, which won with a bid of 10.75 billion crowns for ten years of system operation in a tender for a new toll system and its operators last year. The system replaced Kapsch's existing microwave technology.

CGI IT spokesman Jan Rýdl now supervises the collection of electronic tolls. The Road and Motorway Directorate of CGI commissioned an audit of the new system on the basis of an amendment to the contract by the end of February. Until then, it envisaged the conclusion of a new contract with the winner of the tender.

Cancellation of the tender while it has been struggling for its completion for several months and now seems to be definitely moving towards its successful completion would be a complete shock to us. If this really should happen, we would certainly consider legal steps to protect our rights and claims, said CGK vice president Petr Polak.

Kubera was a passionate smoker, often boasting. In the Senate he fought very loudly against the ban on smoking in restaurants.
