Czech Kokesova won Miss Global Mexico

The ending was definitely dramatic. Prior to the announcement of the results, one of the main sponsors of the contest appeared on the stage and accused the contest finalists of manipulating the results as his favorite from Mexico did not advance. Miss Colombia strongly opposed it and subsequently supported by other girls. At that moment the whole transmission and the competition stopped. The girls went behind the scenes and the winners were announced after a break at the Miss Global leadership meeting.

“After everything that happened, I didn't expect there to be any announcement at all, and even less to be placed. I can't believe it yet, but I have a crown, so yes, it really happened, ”Carolina said enthusiastically. In addition to the Czech Republic's victory, Hana Novoa from Peru, Adrielle Castro from Brazil, Riza Santos from the Philippines and Mikaela Rose from Australia also celebrate the finish.

Czech Miss Veronika Farářová, Commercial Director of the Czech Miss, does not hide the pleasure of placing our representative: “I am extremely proud of Karolína, did not underestimate the preparation and made use of all my experience to date. He deserves victory. Thanks to the whole Czech Miss team, of course. It definitely confirms what everyone knows. Miss Czech Republic is the only national beauty contest that allows winners to change their lives and achieve success across borders. The hard work of the team is definitely paying off and we will continue! ”

Karolína Kokešová has been preparing for the competition since mid-November and strictly followed the menu and exercise plan. “I appreciate the chance I have been given and I approach it responsibly. Regardless of whether I place myself, above all I want to represent our country as best as possible, ”Kokešová said before leaving for Mexico in one of the interviews.

The second Czech vicemiss was presented in the national costume by fashion designer David Hanykýř. The author was inspired by the glass industry of the Czech Republic and Czech nature. At the final gala evening, the beauty also brought a white glitter gown from the workshop of the design duo Poner.

In addition to her competitors from all over the world, Karolína Kokešová at Miss Global also fought illness. She flew to Mexico to represent the Czech Republic in early January. But immediately after arrival, she had to deal with fever and sore throat.

Real Requiem for Doll. The tragic fire hit the Chomutov region years ago

One of the most tragic fires in modern history came to light on the night of November 1 to November 2, 1984, at a social care institution in Měděnec, Chomutov. Just less than 16 kilometers away from Vejprt, where the fire killed the night from Saturday to Sunday. Twenty-six clients of the Institute died at Měděnec, while others suffered serious injuries. The Institute building no longer exists, with a small memorial commemorating that November night.

“You know, when the institute was on fire, I didn't go. It was too much for me. Sometimes even now, when I go to the post office or office, and I walk around those overgrown ruins, sometimes I get cold. The memory comes back at times, "an older woman from Měděnec told her experiences before she wanted to remain anonymous.

To this day, even though it has been more than 35 years old, they do not want to talk about an unfortunate night. The tragic nature of the event also plays a role in this, but also in the fact that the media later became interested in it and produced the well-known Filip Renč film Requiem for a Doll. According to some, this image distorts the tragic event.

At that time, 26 young women, mostly helpless, mentally handicapped clients of the facility, were killed on fire. Fire was founded by one of the girls, then 16-year-old Eva, who did not belong to a similar facility at all. But the then imposing and unmanageable Eva could not cope differently. She started the fire by burning the wardrobes, and because of the locked phones it took quite a long time for firefighters to learn about the incident. The building did not have emergency exits, and the girls who lived in the institution were mostly unable to understand the gravity of the situation and flee themselves on time.
