Annemarie Worst wins sprint Ceylin Alvarado in World Cup Nommay - Annemarie Worst has won the Nommay Cyclo-Cross World Cup in France. After five rounds she was the fastest of a leading group of three, as it ended in a sprint after a technical cross. Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado came in second, ahead of Katie Compton.
Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado did not have the best start. She fell back in the peloton due to a switch error, but within no time she had recovered on the technical (and sometimes frozen) course in Nommay. Even a slider in the first round could not stop Alvarado. Together with Annemarie Worst and the surprising Marion Riberolle, she formed the leading group after two rounds.
Riberolle and Compton
The French champion continued to cheek along with Alvarado and Worst. Other clappers such as Lucinda Brand, Sanne Cant, Yara Kastelijn (all at training camp), Marianne Vos (injured) were absent, giving the top 10 a more international appearance. The three in the lead lowered somewhat halfway through the pace, allowing Katie to join Compton.

At the start of the fourth round there was a big setback for Riberolle: her back broke off. She therefore had to walk very far to the material post and was immediately eliminated for a good result. Compton took its place in the leading group and challenged Alvarado and Worst to the final round.
Sprint with three for the win
In the final round, world cup leader Alvarado put the pressure on. Only Worst could keep the wheel of the Dutch champion, but Compton did not give up. In fact, the 41-year-old American attacked in the ultimate final phase. Her attempt did not go far. It therefore became a sprint-à-trois, which was won by Worst. Alvarado settled for second place, ahead of Compton.
Trio van Beerschot sought after on transfer market
The winter mercato causes nervousness in many clubs, also in 1B. Beerschot got together with Frédéric Frans and Baptiste Aloé two new defenders and has basically finished his homework. Three Beerschot players, however, enjoy the interest of other clubs.
For Yan Vorogovskiy there is a concrete interest from a G5 club. The Kazakh international is one of the bright spots at the Kiel this season. For Réda Halaimia, the Algerian wing defender, there was even an offer of more than one million euros from a club from the Ligue 1. But Beerschot immediately dismissed that proposal. Raphael Holzhauser is also closely followed by some clubs.
Vorogovskiy, Halaimia and Holzhauser arrived this summer with beautiful nobility letters at the Kiel. They were therefore under the assumption that they would play football in 1A. It is no coincidence that they are already on the radar of larger clubs.
Beerschot does not want to let anyone go for the time being, but it seems impossible that those three players will play an extra season in 1B. Although Réda Halaimia and Raphael Holzhauser still have a contract at the Kiel until mid 2023 and mid 2021 respectively, Yan Vorogovskiy has an option in his expiring contract to sign up until 2021.
Our showbiz reporter talked for hours with Koen Wauters about his marital happiness: "Whether everything was still okay between them?"
“Valerie is the woman of my life. I can't imagine a life without her. ”The eyes of Koen Wauters sparkled in the early sun in Hawaii. Wauters would turn fifty a few weeks later and invited me. We talked about money, fame and family. Three times a room-wide smile. Everything neatly checked. Until a different sound suddenly appeared on the last Clouseau album. Songs about cracking in a relationship. Songs about regret and doubt. Songs about Koen and Valerie, unfortunately appeared yesterday.
