Airbus poised Boeing dethrone: Airbus poised to dethrone Boeing leaded by immobilization of 737 Max.

The year starts badly for Boeing. The American manufacturer is suffering the consequences of the two air crashes of its 737 Max, which occurred just a few months apart. Boeing has actually announced a drop of approximately 37% of its aircraft deliveries in the first six months of the year, due in particular to the immobilization of 737 Max aircraft. Airlines prefer to place their trust in its European competitor.

As a result, Boeing delivered 239 aircraft in the first half, compared to 389 for Airbus. The American aircraft manufacturer is therefore in the process of giving up its position as the world's leading aircraft manufacturer. Among the aircraft delivered by Airbus over this period are 53 A350s, 4 A380s and 163 A320neos. The net orders amounted to 88 aircraft, when they came out negative for the constructor of Seattle, to - 119 aircraft. They were at -125 at the end of May. In June alone, Boeing delivered 37 aircraft.

In 2018, the US group had delivered 806 aircraft, a record that allowed him to maintain for a seventh consecutive year its status as the world's leading manufacturer in front of Airbus, whose deliveries had reached 800 last year.

Airbus poised Boeing dethrone

Boeing has not solved the problem yet

All Boeing 737 MAXs were banned from flight following the Ethiopian Airlines air disaster on March 10, less than five months after the crash of a similar aircraft by Indonesian airline Lion Air. These two accidents killed nearly 350 people in total. Deliveries of 737 MAX were halted in March and since the group did not register any new orders for this Boeing bestseller, with the exception of a letter of intent from IAG, the parent company of British Airways, for 200 737 MAX.

The US Civil Aviation Authority identified last month a new potential malfunction affecting the 737 MAX and the aircraft manufacturer will have to adjust before the aircraft can be operated again. In the meantime, Airbus will certainly be able to take advantage of the situation and reap further new orders.
