Karey Burke, president of Disney-owned ABC Entertainment, which broadcasts the ceremony, announced on Wednesday as part of the Television Critics Association's winter press conference that the Oscars 2020 will not be "traditional presenter".

"We expect to have a series of very popular nominations and a lot of incredible elements suggest that we will have a very entertaining ceremony again," said Karey Burke, according to Variety.

Last year, Kevin Hart was to host the Oscars, before being sidelined after being criticized for former homophobic comments, despite late apologies. The Academy then announced that for the first time since 1989, the evening would take place without a master of ceremonies.

Audience ratings for the 2019 Oscars increased by 7.7 points among 18-49 year olds with 29.6 million viewers, an increase of 13% in the category and 12% in general compared to the previous year .
