The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Komi Republic, Viktor Polovnikov, received most of the money for not being held criminally liable, the 112 channel reported.

As he notes, the lawyer and Lieutenant General Fayaz Shabaev, the former head of the Federal Drug Control Service for the Republic of Tatarstan, acted as a mediator between the accused. The latter received 10 million rubles in cash and transferred most of it to Polovnikov. It is noted that another 8.8 million rubles were transferred through one-day firms.

The criminal case against him was instituted by the SKR Department in the Komi Republic. Shabaev was sent to jail before February 17, he faces up to 12 years in prison.
